Last Updated: Sep 11, 2016 03:37PM EDT

Add the BoostSuite Tracking Code to Your Prestashop Site

Copy the BoostSuite Tracking Code, below:

<script type="text/javascript">

   (function() {

   var bs = document.createElement('script');

   bs.type = 'text/javascript';

   bs.async = true;

   bs.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https' : 'http') + '://d2so4705rl485y.cloudfront.net/widgets/tracker/tracker.js';

   var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];

   s.parentNode.insertBefore(bs, s); })();

</script>

then paste it into the pages of your website. To do so, you have two easy options:

  1. Use a Prestashop module

  2. Paste the tracking code directly into a template

Option 1: Using a module

You can insert the BoostSuite tracking code on every page of your website using a module like ContentBox (http://contentbox.org) that allows you to insert custom HTML into your site.

Just install the module and add the code while in 'source code' mode. Then connect the module to the block you prefer. To make sure you track visitors on every page of your site, you should choose a block that is shown on every page, such as 'displayFooter'.

Option 2: Paste the tracking code directly into a template

You can paste the BoostSuite tracking code directly inside a Prestashop template (.tpl file), by pasting the javascript inside the {literal}{/literal} tags. Example:

<script type="text/javascript">

{literal}

   (function() {

   var bs = document.createElement('script');

   bs.type = 'text/javascript';

   bs.async = true;

   bs.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https' : 'http') + '://d2so4705rl485y.cloudfront.net/widgets/tracker/tracker.js';

   var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];

   s.parentNode.insertBefore(bs, s); })();

{/literal}

</script>

Note: You should add the tracking code to a template file that is shown on all pages you wish to record (such as the header.tpl).

Now you’re done.

Once you have added the BoostSuite tracking code to your site, visit your homepage and click to a few other pages on the site. Then return to BoostSuite and reload Articles > Tracking Code to confirm that BoostSuite is properly receiving tracking data from your website.
