How to Add the BoostSuite Tracking Code to Your HubSpot Powered Website

Last Updated: May 13, 2016 09:33AM EDT
The BoostSuite tracking code helps other BoostSuite users understand the level of traffic your website receives each month, which most users cite as one of the primary reasons for selecting a marketing partner in BoostSuite.

Once installed, the tracking code measures traffic from that point forward. It cannot measure traffic from visitors before it was installed. So it's important to install the tracking code on your website as quickly as possible after creating your BoostSuite account, so you get the most credit for visitors on your website.

The BoostSuite tracking code is also used to pool your online audience with your co-marketing partners' online audiences for BoostSuite Ads. BoostSuite Ads shows an ad promoting your business to your co-marketing audience, which is the total pool of your online audience and all of your partners' online audiences.

Installing the BoostSuite tracking code in your HubSpot website is quick and easy, and you only have to do it once.

Install the BoostSuite tracking code in HubSpot:

  1. Copy the javascript snippet below:

    <script type="text/javascript">
        (function() {
        var bs = document.createElement('script');
        bs.type = 'text/javascript';
        bs.async = true;
        bs.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https' : 'http') + '://d2so4705rl485y.cloudfront.net/widgets/tracker/tracker.js';
        var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];
        s.parentNode.insertBefore(bs, s); })();
        </script>

  2. Log in to your HubSpot account.

  3. Locate the Site Header HTML code box, then paste the javascript code from step #1 into the top of the box. Do not delete any existing code that you may have in that box. Paste it above any existing code.

  4. Scroll down and click the Save Changes button to finish

  5. After you've added the tracking code, load your HubSpot site's homepage a few times, then reload the Tracking Code tab in BoostSuite (at Articles > Tracking Code) to confirm it's set up correctly.
